This 14-year-old C. japonica chance seedling of C. japonica 'Edna Campbell' and unknown pollen parent first bloomed in 2000. It was originated and registered by E. Hulyn Smith of Valdosta, Georgia and propagated by E. Hulyn Smith and Loch Laurel Nursery.
Bloom: The medium sized - 3.5" x 2" [3.5" x 2" treated] rose form double form flower is dark red. It has yellow anthers and yellow filaments. The flowers are a unique color and consistent in form. The edges of the petals are darker red than the center of the bloom.
Plant: The plant habit is upright.The growth rate is vigorous.The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses.
Leaf: The dark green leaves average 3.5" x 2".
