The Coastal Carolina Camellia Society

The Coastal Carolina Camellia Society which meets in the Charleston area is a local society, affiliated with the
American Camellia Society. Email us or follow us on Facebook for information on our upcoming meetings.
Our email address is: CoastalCarolinaCamelliaSoc@gmail.com

The CCCS generally meets from August through April at 2:30 pm, on the 3rd Sunday of each month. In May
there is a club picnic and plant auction. Monthly meetings typically feature an informative program or guest
speaker. Experts are always on hand to answer any questions you might have and we have a fun, social
time while enjoying the snacks our members bring.

Routinely, our club meets at James Island Town Hall at 1122 Dills Bluff Rd., SC 29412, However meetings
are always subject to change, so please sign up for club emails or check our Facebook page for the
current meeting time and location.

In addition to the seasonal monthly meetings, membership can include club trips, garden visits and
projects including our annual judged camellia show, raffles, plant sales, and the plant auction at the May
picnic. Historic camellias, propagated by members are sometimes offered at the picnic.

The Spring Show is normally held on the fourth Saturday in January. Blooms are entered from 7:00 AM to
9:30 AM and there is no entry fee, Club members will be on hand to assist newcomers and we sincerely
encourage everyone to enter.

Gardeners wishing to identify their camellias are encouraged to bring them for identification. If they can be
properly identified and arrive at the show before 9:30 AM, they are eligible for entry. Prizes are awarded to
winning blooms. We hope to see you there!

Meredith Green-2727 Charleston Tea Plantation - Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina
Welcome to the Charleston Tea Garden®!  For tea lovers, we promise a once in a lifetime experience.  We're the only tea garden in North America where you can see hundreds of thousands of tea bushes stretching out acre after acre for almost as far as the eye can see.

The Bigelow family, William Barclay Hall and the staff of the garden stand ready to bring you the tea experience of your life.  We're located on picturesque Wadmalaw Island in the heart of the lowcountry just a few miles south of the historic city of Charleston.

Meredith Green-2727 Magnolia Plantation and Gardens - Charleston, South Carolina
At Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, the show-stopping attraction is the romantic garden – and it has been for centuries. From the Audubon Swamp Garden to the historic River Walk, Magnolia has something for everyone. We invite you to stroll through these historic gardens, learn about the horticulture and nature thriving in the Lowcountry, survey the wildlife that call Magnolia home, and explore over 300 years of history.

Meredith Green-2727 Middleton Place - Charleston, South Carolina
Middleton Place is America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens and home to a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Located along the Ashley River in Charleston, Middleton Place is a National Historic Landmark, historic home, research center, and historic plantation and stableyards. We focus on the contributions of the Middleton family as well as the enslaved Africans and African Americans who lived and worked here. The stories are a microcosm of United States history.

Meredith Green-2727 Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site - Charleston, South Carolina
Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site sits on a marshy point, located off the Ashley River, where a group of English settlers landed in 1670 and established what would become the birthplace of the South Carolina. Charles Towne Landing introduces visitors to the earliest colonial history of Charleston. Interact with hands-on exhibits in the Visitor Center, talk to knowledgeable staff members, and take an audio tour on the self-guided history trail.
